A bracelet has a clasp, a bangle goes all the way around and slides over the hand and onto the wrist, and a cuff only covers part of the wrist and slides onto the side of the wrist. I make all three from Sterling silver, brass and copper, and may include my custom gemstones.
I design my bracelets, cuffs and bangles using various traditional metalsmith techniques similar to those used by blacksmiths. It involves heating the metal (annealing) with a blow torch many times to soften the metal enough to hammer and form the metal into a unique shape and design. This involves a lot of time, strength, safety precautions, specialty tools, workspace and overall care and attention to achieve a quality product.
