Viking Knit Bracelet Workshop: Fall, 2022, tba
The workshop in August will be held at the Fiona McIntyre's Studio on Main St. in Merrickville. The maximum participation will be 6 people, and I will run the workshop if we have at least 4 registered. The workshop instruction is a base price of $50 to be paid in advance and then the materials can be purchased at the workshop. We will be using silver-filled wire and you can choose from a variety of components necessary for the finishing. This will customize your piece and make it uniquely yours. All equipment will be available for use during the workshop.
If you think you might be interested, please let me know as soon as possible and I will send you the registration form and put you on the list.
I may offer other workshops in basic jewelry making, such as the Ink Painted Copper Earrings, if there is enough interest.
I have started a mentoring program for locals in lapidary (gem work) and/or jewelry-making. I work with one or two people in a customized learning process according to the specific goals of the participant(s). It could be to create a cabochon from a specific stone that has meaning, learn general skills to see if there is enough interest to pursue more formal instruction, or a specific project to make a piece of jewellery, for example. Mentoring allows for specific programming and individual supervision. All equipment, materials and instruction resources will be provided. The commitment for mentoring is minimal and payment is calculated on an hourly basis to provide flexibility. The cost per hour starts at $25 and is based on the complexity of the project and use of special equipment like the kiln.
If private instruction is of interest to you, message me and we can have a conversation about what you are looking for and then put together a plan if you wish to start.
