Available for sale at the Rothwell Gallery in Ottawa.
A Modernist geometric design featuring a triangle and trapezoid. The trapezoid shaped gemstone is the rare Leland Blue Slag from Michigan along Lake Superior. I designed the pendant based on the shape of the stone and to feature the gorgeous blue colours and interesting pattern that divides the stone down the middle separating it into two distinct shades of blue. The pendant is made in Sterling silver and folds over the chain.
Available for sale but no pickup delivery or shopping until December 1 (no free shipping). It is currently on display at the Good Eats Cafe and Gallery on Bell St. In Ottawa.
Slag is technically not a stone but rather a byproduct of the smelting process. Leland, Michigan used to be the site of iron ore smelting in the 19th Century and one can find the slag on the shores of Lake Michigan. It is quite rare now but sought after for its beautiful robin's egg blue colour.
Available for sale but pickup/delivery/shipping held until Dec. 1 because this is part of a gallery exhibition throughout November.
